But again, the first thing is to make sure the card is 'seen' in Home. So, the 720 should recognize a total of 6 gigs worth of stuff: for example, NA map and system files on internal, European map, mp3's etc on the card. The x20 models use card memory in addition to internal memory. You definitely do NOT need to put the system files on the sd card in the 720. You can switch between internal and card that way. Or, in Home's top menu, look for the option 'Device'. It should ask if you want to use internal memory or external (the sd card). Then, put the card in the unit and do a pin reset for about 5 seconds. It probably was right out of the package, but check anyway. I purchased the WE map only yesterday (waiting to be downloaded), but the sales receipt issued by TT Home says I must download it until today. Or 'Is there a better way to download the WE map?' I saw someone in this Forum suggested to keep NA and WE maps on a same SD. My question is 'Should I delete the NA and Guam maps from the internal memory, then download the WE map to the internal memory?' This suggests that the GO 720 can access the SDHC, but not the TomTom Home software. Then GO 720 shows four maps available (2 North America, 2 Guam).
Then I took the SDHC out, inserted it directly to a USB reader of the PC, copied every files from the internal memory of GO 720 to the SDHC, and put the SDHC back to 720. As suggested by the people in this forum, I bought a 4 GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC, inserted to the 720, connect the 720 it to a PC, TT Home is up, but TT Home cannot recognize the existence of the SD. I purchased a West Europe (WE) map yesterday and wish to download to my GO 720. The e-mail reply from TT Support did not give me any guidance. I hope someone can advise me on this problem.
